The Fashion Design Competence and Creativity Centre is a several thousand metre square of workshops, including among others a sewing room and a prototype workshop with all kinds of sewing machines and a cutting table, and a graphic workshop with specialist software and hardware. It contains a modern photo studio, a library offering publications on broadly understood fashion; space for meetings; a show room with a mobile catwalk for presenting designs which at any time may be used as a conference table. The offer of the Fashion Design Centre is directed to pupils, students and graduates of fields related with design and the fine arts from the country and abroad as well as fashion enthusiasts, regardless of their age. In this place they will gain and improve their knowledge, among others, during courses, workshops and trainings. Participants of classes held by the Centre will learn, among others, material science, trendbook analysis, designing or Visual Merchandising, i.e. creation of commercial space, and, what is particularly important, how to effectively win investors and customers, e.g. in the course of classes showing how to create an online shop or catalogues. The range of the Centre is comprehensive and to a high degree aimed at assisting young entrepreneurs. Participants of the courses will perfect their skills in the area of prototyping, sewing, show organisation or the marketing process.
In March of this year Waleria Tokarzewska graduated from Fashion Design on the Cracow Artistic Schools. Although she has been active for a relatively period, only over one year, in the result of intensive work as a designer, Waleria made over 70 publications in the Polish and foreign fashion magazines such as: Elle Polska, Design Scene, Institute Magazine, Vogue Italia, TrendHunter, Lone Wolf Magazine, Label etc.
The designer created two collections and presently works on the third one which will be available to consumers. Waleria makes all her collections from beginning to end on her own. Her works are characterised by care, multitude of accessories and patterns, and quality – in her designs she uses only the best Italian fabrics and decorations – embroidery. The first collection “Mes Petites Perles de Verre”, a graduation collection, was presented, among others, in the USA during Fashion Week in the North Carolina and in Poland during Fashion Philosophy Fashion Week Poland 2015. The second interseasonal collection, inspired by “Voyage-Orient Express” Off Fashion Kielce competition, was presented, among others, during Off Fashion Weekend and Łobzowska Fashion Day in Cracow in Forum Przestrzenie café. She was invited with her third collection to shows in Paris, London, Los Angeles, New York and Oxford during world Fashion Weeks.The designer also cooperates in production of video clips. You can see her clothes, among others, in music videos: “Sztorm” by Cleo and Donatan, “Pełnia” by Cleo and Donatan x Maryla Rodowicz, “Garden” by XXANAXX, and on the CD cover of Agyness b. Marry. In December of the last year Waleria’s designs were displayed on billboards of the Cracow Shopping Arcade.
