Alternative methods of coffee preparation

11.06.2015, 6 p.m.  Small Stage Foyer

How we drink coffee, how we prepare and serve it, reflects our pace and style of life.
‘Orient Express’ Travel brings to mind the concept of luxury, wealth, good taste and delightful flavour. Oriental train passengers loved using the lounge bar, where they could not only drink alcoholic beverages, but also coffee. It can be found in historical sources, the Orient Express offered Colombian coffee, but the very habit of preparing and drinking coffee came to Europe from the East. It was in Istanbul in 1554, where the first café was opened,  in Poland people were able to taste the coffee for the first time  after the Battle of Vienna (naturally, brewed Turkish way). Coffee therefore has the taste and smell of the Orient, and Istanbul, where the Orient Express was heading, was the first city in the world where the smell of coffee has become one of the dominant street smells.
Enjoy a unique show, presenting unusual ways of making coffee, so as to obtain from it aromatic scent and extraordinary taste. It will be led by the Polish Barista Champion – Marcin Rusnarczyk.

We’re going to set off on an aromatic journey of coffee from different parts of the world!
During the show, coffee brewing methods will be presented, such as: siphon, aeropress, dripper (otherwise known as drip) and chemex.  The participants will have the opportunity to taste single-origin coffees from the specialty coffee shelf  from different regions of the world.
