THE EVENT ACCOMPANYING OFF FASHION

26th of May at 5.00 P.M.  Place: Galeria Echo Kielce, ul. Świętokrzyska 20, Kielce
We invite you to a fashion show of Polish designers that will start with a remarkable presentation of moms in Anna Łosak’s project “I am a mom”. “Photography has always been on my mind… when I was a small girl, I loved sitting on the carpet with family albums. I could browse them for hours. The old photos had something hypnotizing in them – sometimes, it seemed that people presented in them wanted to tell me a story… For most of my life, paradoxically, I did not think about taking the camera myself – I thought that taking pictures was the activity for a small group of skilled people; photography was something on the verge of art and solid craft, something unique, almost magical. I am not referring here, of course, to taking pictures from vacations, parties, or other sights – that was something everyone did, even I. What I mean is serious photography. After some time, I tried to achieve the effects I had seen in the pictures taken by other, those real photographers. It quickly turned out that my reservations that photography is difficult appeared to be accurate. I cannot say that I immediately got bitten by the photography bug, because it had been somewhere inside me for that whole time – the bug just infected me eight years ago with an incurable disease that manifests itself with an irresistible desire to experiment with light, shadow, colors, and frame. It was a sort of a revelation. My life has been better ever since – apart from my wonderful family, I have something of my own, something that helps me forget about everydayness. So, in order to learn more magical tricks, I attended a serious course in photography. I invested in professional equipment and that is how it started. At first, there were occasional events – wedding parties, baptism ceremonies, proms – for practice. Yet, I still wanted something else, craved for something new, something I could fully get involved in. That is how my adventure with studio photography began. Since my first model was my own daughter, I found out that taking pictures of children is my real deal. I tried tested various things on my neighbors’ and friends’ children, as well as on the children in my family. At the beginning, my studio was arranged in the living-room at my mother’s house. When the growing number of sessions involved a growing set of props and equipment, I had to move to a serious studio. As of today, I cannot imagine myself doing something else. Photography is my life… ” – Anna Łosak – a photographer from Kielce.
We invite you to fashion show of Polish designers. During the show in Galeria Echo one can admire the works of the following designers:  Karolina Sańpruch, Arkadiusz Podgórzak, Urszula Sepioło, Patrycja Siwiec, Katarzyna Dworecka, Artur Stec and Edyta Jermacz.
Karolina Sańpruch – student at second year at MSKPU (International School of Costume and Fashion Design) in Warsaw, she comes from Kielce where she graduated from the Institute of Fine Arts at UJK (University of Jan Kochanowski) majoring in design. She participated in Off Fashion semi-finals several times as well as Fashion Design workshops with Paprocki&Brzozowski and Kielce Inaczej competition. Her own, individually sewn collection was presented during the show titled Young Polish Designers which accompanied Off fashion (Orient Express edition). At present she is living and working in Gdansk as an assistant designer in Reserved. She likes telling stories using fashion, she is inspired by both nature and music – her greatest loves.
Arkadiusz Podgórzak –  he was born in Braniewo and spent his entire childhood in the small town called Orneta. He graduated from the Economic High School in Olsztyn, obtaining the title of economist technician – specializing in marketing and management. From Warmia he me moved to Warsaw where he began his studies, graduating both from Polish philology for media at the University of Warsaw and the International School of Costume and Fashion Design (MSKPU).
Studying at MSKPU provided opportunity to use his creativity in reference to design, enriched him with knowledge presented by recognized designers as well as people associated with the clothing industry. The defence of his diploma (March 2017), during which the collection titled Loop Life was originally presented, initiated a new turn in the life of the designer. The best MSKPU graduates were selected to join TOP13 and the designer was granted a distinction in the form of the presentation of the diploma collection on the catwalk during the diploma show. The show was accompanied with the sounds of “Trams and stars” – Miousch and Nosowska which awakened dormant dreams about the presence in the fashion world to a greater extent.
His closest surroundings serve as inspiration for creating projects. The colours and cuts are also significant. Each element is symbolic. What is more, various clothing techniques were applied to create the collection, such as: his own print, laser cut-outs or original computer embroidery. At first glance one can notice asymmetrical connections made of various fabrics and knits. This enhances the unique quality and clarity of clothes not only when they are presented on the catwalk but also during everyday use.
The year 2018 is a year devoted to activities aimed at launching a brand to promote both the designer himself and other beginner designers. According to the designer’s opinion, it is better to wait with launching the brand onto the fashion market to have time for refining the details and the collection to be sold for the first time. The point is to build admiration and appreciation as well as provide people with something which is worth having and presenting around the world.
Collection titled Loop Life  is a graduation project inspired by a maze which is to serve as a metaphor of getting lost, searching and finding oneself in the modern world with people being accompanied by various emotions on a daily basis.
The collection includes pieces for both men and women. The main features are: multilayeredness, asymmetry, a multitude of geometric cuts, combination of fabrics with knitted items as well as original prints, computer embroidery and laser cuts.
In March 2017 the collection won a distinction awarded by MSKPU Diploma Commission and was appointed for the diploma show at the Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw where it received an award from a Special Guest – former President of Inditex Polska, Tomasz Kania.
In June 2017 the collection was presented during the semi-finals of the XIX edition of Off Fashion Competition in Kielce. Then in August 2017 Loop Life collection was recognized by the entire jury and won the second place during Radom Fashion Show finale. During the same evening the Editor-in-Chief of the magazine titled Moda w Polsce, Lidia Przybylska, awarded the collection a special distinction in the form of a publication in the magazine. In September 2017 the designer received the Main Prize Silver Loop for Loop Life collection. This award was granted by the Polish Fashion Academy during Mercure Fashion Night in Poznań.
The entire collection is casual-sport in its character. It is aimed primarily at people who value comfort, convenience and at the same time wish to stand out from the crowd.
Urszula Sepioło – She was born and brought up in a small town in Ponidzie and she loves coming back to that area. Since she was a child her hobbies have been connected to art. She painted, drew and took photographs. She loved fashion magazines, especially the French editions of ELLE, VOGUE and Harper’s Bazaar. She found beautiful photo editions, high aesthetics very inspiring. She graduated from the School of Artistic Design in Cracow. When she was studying she participated in Off Fashion competition twice. Drawing beetles is one of her passions. They were the dominating inspiration as regards her diploma collection. She loves art, photography, theatre, travelling, succulents.
The main inspiration as regards the collection includes exotic beetles, their coloration and shapes. The round curves of armour served as inspiration for way the clothes were finished, constructions and prints. “Hygge”, a book devoted to the Danish philosophy of life as happiness derived from the mundane activities of everyday life accompanied the artist during the creative process. For that reason the collection is addressed to people who enjoy a cup of tea while being wrapped in the long sleeves of a sweater.
Long knitted shirts, sweaters and knitwear are casual in their nature. In case of shirts, traditional buttons were replaced with metal guides. The designer decided to use mainly cotton wool and satin as well as printed satin. As regards fabric printing method she selected digital print applying aqueous pigment inks which are environmentally friendly. The colour scheme includes broken white, powder pink, blue and vivid yellow. Moreover, gray colour appears to provide some balance.
Patrycja Siwiec – She is a student at the Academy of Metallurgy and Mining in Cracow, majoring in construction. She is also a graduate of the Cracow School of Art majoring clothing design. She began designing when she was sixteen. At the beginning it was just a hobby, but later it developed into dreams. While designing the artist finds inspiration in the world around her, she loves fascinating combinations of materials, accessories and is constantly searching for new structures to use them when working with fabric.
Collection titled ”breath under water”  inspired by water, organisms which live in this environment, in particular, fish. The dominating colours include orange, navy blue, green and violet. Structures imitating fish scales invented by the artist constitute a significant part of the collection. The round shape of the fish has been transferred to the silhouettes in the form of a line of cuts. The collection includes slippery, shiny fabrics which correspond to the water flora and fauna. The entire collection is complemented by hand-painted shoes on a round heel.

Katarzyna Dworecka – this year’s graduate of the School of Art Design in Cracow and Visual Merchandising School. Her projects were presented during the Cracow Fashion Week many times as well as at OFF Fashion. She started her fashion career in Zara Polska. Then she worked as the chief Visual Merchandiser for the brand Bytom S.A. Her projects have been presented, among other things, in the magazine TUBA of Cracow Schools of Art.
Collection titled „Fishbone”.  A collection inspired by the works of Wes Anderson, in particular, by the films “The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” and “Grand Budapest Hotel”. Soft, scaled forms and original structures serve as dominating elements. The collection make use of non-standard materials such as: coloured cable ties and transparent PVC tubes. All furs used in the collection are artificial. Artur Stec –born in 1986, graffiti-writer who has been actively working for over 15 years, a graduate of the Cracow School of Artistic Design of Clothing, he works in an art studio, his tasks involve restoration of monuments, painting and graphic design. Designing clothes is his passion which he tries to apply in his professional work. Currently he is studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice specializing in graphic design. He performs his artistic activities (graffiti and clothing design) using TAG (pseudonym written using graffiti) LESER which has accompanied him from his early adolescence and emphasized the rebellion of hip-hop culture surrounding him when he was growing up which continues to influence him and is close to his heart even today.
Collection titled „miejski kamuflaż” (“urban camouflage”) Results from the designer’s fascination with urban creativity: graffiti-vandalism – logotype forms. It was created in opposition to the lack of anonymity of an individual human being in public space. It was constructed based on widely understood contrast: natural, heavy materials such as hemp and linen plus lightweight thermo-active polyester synthetics; stained, fuzzy, dirty, vibrating dyes contrasted with pure, sharp, closed form of “information”; multi-layered, covered body against exposed eyes, hands, sometimes ankles. Dyeing and decolouring techniques, design and placement of embroidery, the objective and nature of the collection as well as creative process are determined by the current works of the designer performed as a graffiti-writer. Although the designer does not use letter forms  in his collection, he treats them and his graffiti as one.
Edyta Jermacz – she is a fashion designer.
She has two clothes lines Klu by Edyta Jermacz & Luvyoutoo:
KLU BY EDYTA JERMACZ is a unisex street wear project – the collections within this line are characterized by atypical combinations of prints, colours and forms.
LUVYOUTOO <3U2 – is a line representing demicouture dark minimal genre –  unique items available in a maximum of a few pieces constitute elements of the collection.
All collections are designed and manufactured in Poland. Knitwear applied in this collection comes from Polish factories – and the artist also uses wool and eco-leather imported from Italy.
Tamara Miś – In 2017, she completed her degree at the International School of Costume and Clothing Design. Since that time, she has been running two original brands. Maniac is a brand of sport wear inspired by rock climbing, which is one of Tamara’s passions. In Zazu, Tamara focuses on designing and sewing leather handbags and clothes that feature a peculiar texture. The designer likes to experiment with fabrics and, as a result, change their texture and the impression they make.About the collection: “metal Beauty”. Tamara’s collection is inspired by metal, particularly the changes occurring on the surface of metals due to the impact of external factors. Metal undergoes the process of rusting, corrosion; it can be secured by applying various types of coating. Metal can be shaped and bent thanks to plastic working processes. All those aspects inspired Tamara to create her collection that comprises fabrics covered with special paints, coated with laminates, as well as subjected to process of crinkle.
